Still Waters, Deep Roots, Epic Views
Get ready to lose yourself in one of Vancouver Island’s most breathtaking and restorative corners — a full day of wild beauty, ancient landscapes, and unforgettable moments on the Saanich Peninsula.
Your adventure begins on the glassy, sheltered waters of Tod Inlet, a protected sanctuary where nature moves at its own unhurried pace. Paddleboard past soaring birds, curious seals, and crystal-clear water alive with sea stars and jellyfish. Pull ashore mid-journey to explore, enjoy a relaxing lunch, and soak in the rich history of this healing and magical place.
Next, lace up your boots as we head into LauWelNew/John Dean Provincial Park — a wild refuge where the outside world simply falls away. Stroll beneath towering old-growth firs and cedars, wind through rare sun-drenched Garry oak meadows, and emerge at Pickles Bluff where the entire Saanich Peninsula unfolds before you amongst the shimmering waters of Haro Strait. It’s a view that stops you in your tracks.
The perfect finale? Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse — a beloved local gem rooted in sustainability and a deep love of the land. Settle in for a guided tour and tasting of their award-winning ciders, raise a glass, and toast to one of the best days you’ll ever have on Vancouver Island.
This tour includes a 2.5-3-hour paddleboard session, involving up to 1.25 hours at a time on the board, and separated by a 30–45-minute break for lunch and exploring on shore. Paddleboarding will be completed at a relaxed pace, with the option for self-paced breaks. Beginner paddleboarders are welcome, no experience necessary.
The forest hike involves some elevation and uneven terrain and includes an approximately 2.5km loop trail. The hike will be completed at a comfortable pace with time to enjoy the scenery and take pictures.
